Students will be introduced to reading and writing critically, and discussing both form and content within these works. All discussions will be carried out in Spanish.
SPAN 321 with Dr. Gomez was a great experience. Dr. Gomez always involves the class in discussions and games. This class was a bit of a review from material of SPAN 304, but has also included new material. The book we use, Mil Años de Literatura, explores a thousand years of literature. Dr. Gomez focuses on six main stages: La edad media, Siglo de Oro, Siglo XVIII, Siglo XIX, Generacion '98, El Siglo XX y XXI. We have learned about history, writing styles, and different authors. We have a test at the end of each section. Dr. Gomez usually makes us get in groups or partners. He encourages us to work with those that we haven't worked with before. He keeps us on our toes by pop quizzing us and picking on us randomly. I have really enjoyed his class. I have learn a lot about literature and memorable authors.
